Short answer

  4. Best cap overall: Gem Cup Gem-Lock, but every piece is sold out. Watch their Instagram for the next drop.

The picks

Dab Hut joystick cap in blue: a capsule-shaped blue glass top with a carb hole below it, a ring collar and a straight stem

Best buy right now

The Dab Hut x AngusChenChen Joystick

$24 clear, $28 colors, $35 Blue Marina

In stock today. Ships from Michigan, 2 to 4 days.

The only good joystick that is reliably in stock, and the cheapest way to find out what airflow you actually like. Three drilled tiers: Restricted (about 1.6 to 1.8 mm) for low-temp flavor, Stock (2.0 to 2.2 mm) to match the Dr. Dabber cap, Open (2.5 mm+) for one big pull. Uses your stock magnetic ring. The Dab Hut says outright it is modeled on the Gem Cup design: close, not identical.

Good

  • In stock in every airflow tier today
  • Clear is $24, so Stock + Open is about $55
  • 5.0 from 4 verified reviews, all say better than stock

Watch out

  • Airflow is fixed per cap, no re-drill
  • Blue Marina, UV Green and Purple sold out in some tiers
JNG Green Stardust Joylink: a glittering green ring-shaped top with an opal marble held in the middle, on a clear ribbed stem

Best in stock premium

JNG Studios Joylink

$80

In stock today, 6 colorways.

Hand-blown in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania by Jonathon Nagy. His product pages say plainly "Fits Dr. Dabber Switch 2 grommets." More airflow and more movement than stock, plus a marble that rolls as you tilt. This is the "Open" reference other makers tune against, so pick it if you finish a dab in one pull. Green Stardust, Electrum, Gold Ruby, Sonic and UV Isotope were all live today.

Good

  • Actually in stock, unlike Gem Cup and Major Glass Lab
  • Made specifically for the Switch 2 ring
  • Doubles as a pendant

Watch out

  • One airflow only, and it is open
  • Buy the Joylink line only. Golink is Switch GO and Corelink is Puffco / Carta
Coopers Glass clear spinner cap seated on a Switch 2: a stepped clear glass cap sitting in the black magnetic ring

Best for terp pearls

Coopers Glass Switch 2 spinners

$65 to $100 depending on style and color

In stock: 36 of their 39 Switch 2 pieces. Colors ship in about a week.

The deepest Switch 2 glass catalog anywhere, and nearly all of it is live. The pick is the Spinner + Center Directional ($70): one face spins pearls in a vortex, flip it and the other face blows straight down the middle. The Glory Hole caps ($65 to $75) add finger holes so you can choke or clear without lifting the cap. All reuse your stock magnetic ring.

Good

  • In stock in 19 to 40 color variants per style
  • Spinner and directional in one flippable piece
  • Handmade, crushed opal and linework options

Watch out

  • No customer reviews posted
  • Two to three times the Dab Hut price
Gem Cup Gem-Lock cap held in a black glove: a purple and lime-green hat-shaped glass cap with a purple base ring, more colored caps blurred behind it

Best overall, if you wait

Gem Cup Glass Gem-Lock

$80 clear, $100 to $180 colored and faceted

Every Switch 2 piece sold out today. All 21 of them. Preorder drops run 2 to 4 weeks.

Still the best-engineered joystick for this rig, which is why the Dab Hut benchmarks against it by name. You choose the airflow hole from 1.6 to 2.7 mm at checkout and they re-drill it free later if your taste changes. The restriction sits at the bottom of the stem instead of the top, so air enters the cup with more force at the same size. Ships with its own magnetic ring captured between two silicone O-rings, and a UFO ring stops the stem touching the quartz. Lifetime warranty.

Good

  • Pick your airflow, change it later for free
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Its own snappier magnetic ring, not the stock one

Watch out

  • Completely sold out as of today
  • Preorder wait, and drops go fast
Major Glass Lab joystick: a bright yellow disc-topped glass cap seated in the black knurled magnetic ring, with a row of colored stems in the background

Owner favorite

Major Glass Lab Switch 2 Joystick

$45, free US shipping

All 7 variants sold out today. They restock and ship on Fridays.

The joystick Switch 2 owners on Reddit praised the most in 2025 ("makes the thing rip"). Longer tip and more wiggle than stock, three airflows (Open, Stock, Extra restricted), fits the stock ring. Best value of the premium joysticks when it is actually available.

Good

  • Real owner track record
  • Three airflow choices at $45

Watch out

  • Sold out right now
  • No re-drill service or warranty stated
Sandalz purple spinner cap: a pink-purple glass cap with a wide brim and two clear bumps on top

You asked about this one

Sandalz Glass Switch 2 Spinner

$59.99

In stock today at Drip Store, purple.

Jayme Hunter (@sandalz_glass). This is a spinner, not a joystick. To answer your question directly: Sandalz does not make a Switch 2 joystick. He makes joysticks, but every one is built for Puffco or Flux grommets, not the Switch 2 ring. Of the nine Sandalz spinner caps in stock at Drip Store, only this purple one is cut for the Switch 2. The rest are Puffco 3DXL.

Good

  • In stock now
  • Well-known artist, strong reputation on Puffco spinners

Watch out

  • No Switch 2 joystick exists from him. DM him if you want one made
  • Only one of his listings actually fits the Switch 2, check the description before buying

Dr. Dabber magnetic carb cap seal: two black knurled rubber rings with a clear glass stem through them

Dr. Dabber Magnetic Carb Cap Seal

$4.95

Not a cap. This is the magnetic ring every third-party cap seats in. Buy a spare, the magnet inside is easy to damage when cleaning.

Kadabra Glass Switch 2 Spinner

Paulson Pieces Joystick Ball Cap

Ball-top joystick from Spokane, WA. Reddit liked it: "much easier to move, doesn't stick and spins the pearls better than stock." One airflow, unpublished size. paulsonpieces.com returns a payment error today, so the store looks frozen. Watch GlassPass, a clear millie went for $30 there.

Gem Cup clear spinner caps from Bar None Glass: three clear stepped glass caps standing on a mirror

Gem Cup Glass Clear Spinner

$52.95

Sold out

Spinner from the Gem-Lock maker, sold through Bar None Glass.

How it fits

The Switch 2 does not take normal banger caps. The glass top carries a magnetic silicone ring, and the cap is a bare glass joystick that drops into that ring and tilts. Every cap here is built for that ring. Your stock ring stays on the rig and you just swap the glass.

magnetic silicone ring (stays on the rig) glass joystick cap (the part you swap) airflow hole 1.6 to 2.7 mm 20 mm quartz cup
The ring is the interface. Caps are interchangeable glass that seats in it. Gem Cup ships its own ring; everyone else reuses the stock one.

Airflow hole sizes

This single number decides how the cap hits. The stock cap is 2.0 mm, and every 0.1 mm is roughly 10 percent more or less air.

1.6
tightest, cold-start flavor
1.8
low temp, several pulls
2.0
stock cap
2.2
most popular upgrade
2.5
open, one big pull
2.7
max

Like the stock pull but want it a little freer: 2.2 mm. Already lifting the cap to finish a dab: 2.5 or Open. Running pearls: do not go past 2.2, because too much air stops them spinning.
